The Value Of Toys And Puzzles

by | Jun 5, 2019

Hi moms! In this post, I show you some helpful games to aid in your
child’s growth.

From as far back as I can remember, which isn’t long, daddy brought
home toys for Harper and me. Daddy drives a truck all over, so he isn’t
home often.

I guess to make us feel better about that, he always comes home with
stuff for us. Sometimes puzzles.

Early Toys

The first toys I recall were rattles and bathtub toys that would squeak.
I learned how to use my hands and fingers to hold them. Moving them
from one hand to the other.

Also, how I could make them make noise. Mom calls it learning cause
and effect.

Mental Growth

In time, dad would bring me stuff that helped my skills and mental
abilities grow. Toys
I could stack, like blocks and cups. They were in
various sizes and shapes.

I still play with them. Mom says they help improve my hand to eye
coordination. The building
blocks also helped my creative ability.

Talking Development

I also got some dolls and animal toys that talked to me. They helped
my speech skills! I would start talking back to them.

Musical Toys

One toy had buttons on it and when I pushed them, I would hear
music. In time, I started to dance to it even when I was sitting!

Telephone

One day my sister and I got toy telephones. We practiced imitating
mom on it like we hear mom talking when she’s on the phone.

Puzzles

I started playing with Harper’s wooden puzzle recently, though I don’t
have as much
time anymore.

It’s for a toddler older than me but I was curious. I was actually able to
put it together even though it has eight pieces!

Mom says puzzles help grow reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Phonic Worksheets

So far, my favorite game is the phonics worksheets daddy brought us.
That started me on the road to learning how to read!

Whichever toys you choose for your child, they will surely help him grow
in some way. As long as they are safe.

Happy hunting!
