How To Ease Your Baby’s Gas Pain
Hi moms! Here you’ll find different methods of helping baby get
rid of gas pain including the method mom uses.
One of the reasons infants weep is a build-up of gas in their
tummy. A baby’s digestion system is still undeveloped.
This is particularly true in their very first months. This can
bring about excess gas in their tummy. For some infants, this
can become more extreme than for others.
Tummy swells up
Usually, you will see their tummy swell. There are many
methods to help baby, though.
Burping
One method of providing your child relief is to burp your baby a
lot after being fed. Sometimes even while they’re being fed, if
they start to cry.
This is true for both bottle fed babies and those that are
nursing.
Tummy On Your Shoulder
To burp your child, just hold them upright in your arms. Put their
belly near your shoulder. Gently pat her on the back.
Mom With Ricky
I watched mom do a simple exercise with my little brother. He
seemed to enjoy it. She laid him on his back and gently took
hold of one of his feet.
Then she bent the leg and pushed his knee to his chest.
She then brought that leg back and did the same thing with the
other one. Then she repeated it many times.
Bathing
You can bathe your baby in warm water. This may help loosen
her tummy muscles and release any entrapped gas.
Also, the pleasant feeling in the bath may make him forget his
discomfort.
Hot pack
This technique combines both burping and bathing: Warm two
small towels with warm water. Fold one a couple of times and
place it on baby’s tummy.
Wrap the other one around his belly on top of the other towel.
This will hold the other towel in place as well as putting slight
pressure on the tummy. This may help baby find relief.
Colic
You may have done all of the above without relief. If your baby
clenches her fists when crying, she could have colic.
Also, if they draw their knees up to their belly a lot when
crying or arch their back.
If you feel your child may have colic, call your baby doctor.
There are remedies on the market for this.
OK, that’s all. Have a great day!
