How To Calm A Crying Baby
Hi moms! Here’s some ideas on how to quiet your little one.
Before we can talk, we cry to communicate. If any kind of unpleasant
feeling comes we just cry.
Usually, we cry of course, when we’re wet, hungry or uneasy in some
other way. Sometimes though, it’s to have the attention of someone.
We don’t want to be alone. The reason may also be serious, though. So,
the answer to why must be discovered.
Below are some things to remember that may aid you in calming your
baby.
– Take off any clothing that may be too tight that could be the cause of
irritability.
– Change wet or soiled diapers quickly.
– Turn on a fan and or open up the window if it’s hot.
– Cover baby with a soft covering if it’s cold.
– Sometimes they can be calmed by patting them on the back to relieve
gas.
-You can also try rocking them gently in your arms while walking around
the room.
– If it’s not feeding time give them a pacifier. That may calm them.
– If it’s nice out, take them for a stroll in some fresh air.
If nothing seems to work, it may be more serious.
– Press their tummy gently. If they start moving and resisting you it may be
colic.
– Feel their head with the back of your hand. If you suspect a fever, take
their temperature. It should be between 97 and 100.3.
– Pull their ear delicately. If they seem to be in more discomfort it may be an
earache.
– Look at the skin from head to toe. Do you see a rash?
– Look at their nose. Do you see a discharge?
-Listen to their breathing. Is it labored or is their a rattling sound?
If you notice any of the above symptoms or other unusual signs, call your
baby’s doctor right away.
If you feel it’s real serious, take baby quickly to the emergency room your
pediatrician has advised in the past.
OK, moms. I hope that helps. The below video might help you too!
Have a great day!
